Acquired neuromyotonia (Isaacs syndrome) is characterised by peripheral nerve hyperexcitability causing:

A cause is autoantibodies against voltage-gated potassium channels (VGKC-Abs). Hence about 1/4 of cases are associated with other autoimmune disease such as myasthenia gravis.
