Acrodermatitis enteropathica

Acrodermatitis enteropathica can be due to zinc deficiency or various defects of the zinc transporter protein genes (eg ZNT4, SLC30A4, SLC39A4). It is manifest by:

  • Dermatitis affecting the face and perineum
  • Alopecia
  • Diarrhoea
