Angioedema

Sudden swelling of the face, mouth, throat area. An occasional adverse reaction to a drug or to some ingested or applied substance. A variant results from abnormality of the complement system.

Potentially lethal.

Acquired angioedema may occur in haematological conditions and autoimmune disease.
