Multiple autoimmune conditions are associated with anti-ganglioside antibodies. These can be quite specific for some conditions. Some conditions such as severe GBS are only associated with antibodies to ganglioside complexes (GSCs) consisting of two different gangliosides, but not with each constituent ganglioside.
