Aneurysmal change in the aorta. Carries a risk of rupture and sudden death.

Most commonly refers to an abdominal aortic aneurysm, but the thoracic aorta can be affected too. Classified and treated on basis of location:

Rarely spreads between the two compartments as a thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm.
