Described by J.G. Asherman. He was not the first to describe a case, but published a series of papers drawing together the various clinical features.Syndrome of intra-uterine adhesions or synechiae, usually as a result of intra-uterine trauma from dilatation and curettage for miscarriage or retained products of conception. It may present with subsequent amenorrhoea, infertility or recurrent miscarriages.
