Cardiac myosin-binding protein C
Cardiac muscle structural protein under investigation as an alternative biomarker to troponin in detecting early myocardial damage. It appears to be released as a full-length and a cleaved form in experimental animal models of ischaemia with the proportion of cleaved form representing a possible surrogate for the extent of ischaemia.
