Cell division control protein 45 homolog
The CDC45 gene at 22q11 codes for the 566 amino acid cell division control protein 45 homolog which is required for initiation of chromosomal DNA replication. It is associated with origin recognition complex subunit 2. Three isoforms are known.
Mutations cause Meier-Gorlin syndrome 7 which is characterised by bilateral microtia, aplasia/hypoplasia of the patellae, and severe intrauterine and postnatal growth retardation with short stature and poor weight gain.
