Chromatin is a dynamic in life complex of DNA, protein (mainly histones) and RNA macromolecules found in eukaryotic cells that functions to:

  1. Organise DNA into minimal function volume
  2. Structurally support and reinforce the DNA
  3. Minimise DNA damage
  4. Regulate gene expression and DNA replication
