  • Endometriosis
  • Benign fibrocystic breast disease
  • Myelodysplastic syndromes due in particular to defects in telomere maintenance and repair ( unlicensed )[1]
  • Hereditary angioedema with C1-inhibitor deficiency ( unlicensed ) [2]

Issues

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy and breast feeding
  • Severe liver, renal or cardiac impairment
  • Porphyria
  • Thromboembolic disease
  • Androgen dependent tumour ( eg prostatic cancer)
  • Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
  • Hypersensitivity

Side effects

  • Masculisation
  • VTE
