One or several of the strange attractors about which health policy and the running of the NHS periodically seem to orbit for a while.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) was called the Department of Health (DH) until January 2018. It is the government department responsible for health (and, since January 2018, also for social care) in the UK.
It is not clear why the politician responsible for health (and social care) is a "secretary" rather than a "minister", or why (in the UK) the department is not referred to as a ministry.
The Department of Health website (Changed to this 26th March 2013 losing in process easy access to many historic documents. Some are found now at the National Archives at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ )
