Special advice

Pharmacology

Extensive metabolisers will produce more of the active opioid dihydromorphine which has slightly increased potency to morphine. However dihyrocodeine has not to date been associated with the unexpected respiratory depression problems in extensive metabolisers that can make codeine use problematical.
