The Dor proceedure is a form of Left Ventricular Reconstructive surgery [1] where a patch of scarred heart muscle is incised or even removed under a purse string suture.

A patch of Dacron may be required if the piece of tissue removed is large. Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CAB) may be performed at the same time.

It should not be confused with the Heller-Dor Proceedure which is surgery to the gastroesophageal junction.
