The GUCA2A gene at 1p35-p34 codes for the 115 amino acid pro-peptide guanylate cyclase activator 2A usually known as guanylin despite this actually being the terminal 15 amino acids. It is also cleaved into HMW-guanylin which is the last 94 amino acids.
