Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 2 (HTLV-2,) is a deltaretrovirus that is transmitted sexually or by breastfeeding. While it appears to be associated with increased overall and cancer mortality[1], there is only a weak association with neurological presentations like tropical spastic paraparesis and perhaps no association with lymphoma. Like HTLV-1 those with positive serology are more likely to have[2]:
