Wikipedia on Interleukin-7 receptor subunit alpha (Less technical, ? quality control)
Interleukin-7 receptor subunit alpha ([[CD127) is a type 1 cytokine receptor coded by the IL7RA gene at 5p13. This is part of the:
- IL-7 receptor protein which is also complexed with the cytokine receptor common gamma chain (IL2RG) in the functional receptor heterodimer. The receptor stimulates the proliferation of lymphoid progenitors during certain stages of B cell maturation.
- Thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor when complexed with cytokine receptor-like factor 2 and when stimulated induces in monocytes the release of T cell attracting chemokines from monocytes, activastes mast cells and enhances the maturation of CD11c(+) dendritic cells.
There are 3 isoforms:
- H20: Membrane bound
- H1: Membrane bound
- H6: Secreted
