Joseph Bancroft

Joseph Bancroft (1836 to 1894) was a surgeon who made his name in parasitology by identifying Wuchereria bancrofti . All his key work for which he is now remembered was done after his emigration to Queensland in 1864 and his wide interests in research into biological problems and pharmacology is notable, although he was also in demand for his clinical skills.
