Functions

  • Conversion between glucose and glycogen in response to changes in insulin & glucagon levels.
  • Conjugation of waste products / toxic substances so they can be secreted.
  • Produces albumin
  • Produces most clotting factors

Liver transplantation may be performed in some cases.
