We are less variable than many species, which probably makes medicine easier than it might be, and pharmacogenetics a smaller subject than it would be for our closest cousins Pan trog, Pan paniscus or Gorilla gorilla. These species share many diseases with us, indeed so much so that they are probably significant reservoirs for human disease and vice versa. This wiki is heavily biased towards homo sapiens.
