Meibomian gland

Named after a German physician, Heinrich Meibom

The Meibomian glands (tarsal glands, glandulae tarsales) are specialised sebaceous glands at the rim of the eyelids that excrete sebum, the oily substance that prevents evaporation of the eye's tear film. See Wikipedia:Meibomian gland.
