Self-limiting subcutaneous myofibroblastic proliferation, but the rapid growth maybe mimic sarcomatous malignancy. Traditionally, many cases were said to be associated with trauma, but there has been debate as to whether the condition is reactive or neoplastic. Discovery of the MYH9-USP6 translocation in most cases, places this condition in the odd category of a self-limiting neoplasm.
