Greek. Onkos meaning mass, bulk or swelling; kytos meaning hollow (i.e. a cell).
Any type of tumour with oncocytes. The ultrastructure of these cells are characterised by numerous mitrochondria. With H&E staining, the cytoplasm has an intense, eosinophilic granular appearence.
