Overdose is a common problem encountered in the Accident and Emergency department. The following drugs are commonly taken in overdose in the UK:
Ultimately this depends on the drug, or drugs, taken. Initial management is that of Airway, Breathing and Circulation followed by:
- Drug identification
- History including bystander/paramedics
- Blood levels
- Drug elimination
- Supportive therapy
