Aetiology
Believed to be caused by a yeast, pityrosporum.
Description
Red, flaky skin, dandruff. Somewhat itchy.
Treatment
Treat with ketoconazole (as Nizoral Cream or Shampoo). Sometimes a weak corticosteroid is also needed.
Efalith and Head & Shoulders shampoo are effective but less so than Nizoral.[1]
