I agree that articles should be referenced but its really helpful if someone other than me does it. <ref><pubmed>PUBMED NUMBER</pubmed></ref> and a {{refsec}} at the end of an article can take similar time to typing the request for a reference in the first place.

If you want to quickly search for a relevant reference (eg links in subjectbox) often a pubmed abstract does give the necessary information without having the original paper in front of you. Obviously only reference what you know to be fair. I only have easy access to a few journals and regretfully you will find my references do tend to be biased to them, as even if I read a paper in the library three years ago I know how easy it is to get the wrong impression Mlj 21:17, 23 April 2008 (BST)
