Waterlow score

Score that helps to assess the risk of pressure sores. A score of >10 is classed as 'at risk', a score of >15 is classed as 'high risk' and a score of >20 is classed as 'very high risk'.[1]

Points are given for various factors including:

  • Build
  • Continence
  • Health of skin
  • Mobility
  • Gender
  • Age
  • Appetite
  • Special Risks
  • Neurological deficit
  • Trauma
  • Medications
